Fox cubs 2020

The photos on this page are arranged backwards in time: from 22 May 2020 when the fox cubs left to 20 April 2020 when they first emerged from their den under our garden shed. Initially they were tiny, brown and blue-eyed and over the few weeks they stayed in our garden during England's coronavirus lockdown their adult colours came through. Mum had six cubs and despite my frequent stalking with the camera they remained skittish and shy. Mum provided food like squirrels but she was rarely seen, never photographed.
